Lima

I am not sure why we were so anxious to get to the airport four hours early, but luckily this allowed us to discover my favorite aspect of the airport - it's Christmas all year! Amazing but true.


The in-flight entertainment included a "Tom Cruise Cycle" (Minority Report, MIIII and Collateral). What exactly makes this a cycle was unclear to us. Has Tom come to some amazing revelation by the end of MIIII...? We aren't really sure, and didn't stay up to find out.

We arrived to find Lima its usual overcast self, grabbed some coffee and headed over to Mar Rojo Cevicheria on Av. Larco for some ceviche mixto and a Cusqueña. Mmmmm... limon....

In our journeys through the streets of Miraflores we ran into this interesting structure;


What happened here? Clearly some of these apartments have been occupied for some time, but the upper floors are completely unfinished. Did this building once have a facade that has now fallen off? Was it just never completed? Maybe the people in the now empty apartments moved out and took their windows with them.
